Manly Beach-behave like a local Sunday!
Today being Sunday, all the locals go to the beach, me being no exception!! Weather is gorgeous, but, like yesterday, an afternoon thunderstorm, ( Florida Keys weather)
Off on the Manly ferry in blazing sunshine, this time with my flipflops and bikini, and enjoyed the Australian Open Surf competition
I had no idea what is going on, the commentary could have been in a foreign language, but it was fun/spectacular/noisy and buzzing.
Everyone is so friendly, one couple spent ages moaning about politics and the economy, bit too gossipy for us reserved Brits at times…
The ferry ride back in the setting sun was wonderful, it feels like a beach holiday at times rather than a city, but the heat makes it hard to do much else, and the surf scenery is so unlike England anyway it s got to be done.
Manly beach - what a name! sounds like its named after me. It has finally stopped being freezing here, and all is well.
